GIVING TUESDAY: WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF COMMUNITY

by Radical Adventures in Wellness

Drum Like a Lady is nonprofit collective, "Led by Women, Governed by Percussion", whose mission is to provide safe and healing spaces where all people can achieve wellness and find community through the restorative power of collaborative music-making.

Drum Like a Lady was birthed in the community and continues to keep community at the forefront of our mission. We began by connecting female drummers through intergenerational and intercultural programming, and now our team is empowered to expand our mission in the Tri-State. Our first drums were provided by community donations. Those same drums have now been played by hundreds and experienced by thousands, bringing love and light to children, elders, those with depression and anxiety, individuals recovering from trauma, and individuals who were never even offered an instrument to play, due to their level of perceived ability. The drum is our tool; the message is love; the mission is to re-imagine wellness.

By donating to Drum Like a Lady, you're empowering us to
  • Expand our Drum4LIFE Program, bringing free, collaborative, music-making experiences to individuals with health challenges
  • Fund our 12-part "Unsaid" conversation series for women, giving voice to the tough topics that have plagued women of color, thus inhibiting our ability to heal
  • Fund our first "Drum Like a Lady" video web series, highlighting the accomplishments of Philadelphia's drumming women
  • Cover production and administrative fees for the 2019 Drum Like a Lady Festival
  • Design and print services for 2019 programming
  • Launch "Adventures in Wellness 4 Women", a new meet-up community for women, in the Philadelphia region, who are seeking opportunities to explore new, radical and creative methods of achieving wellness.
No donation is too large or too small. We are most grateful.
